Jon Krakauer
Jon Krakauer was born on April 12, 1954. Because he grew up living in Corvallis, Oregon, Jon enjoyed hiking and mountain climbing. This is why he is mostly known for his books about hiking and mountain climbing. In 1976 ,after graduating from Hampshire College, Jon began to travel. He traveled and climbed a mountain that was at one time said to be the most difficult mountain to climb on Earth. Krakauer reached the top of Mt. Everest in the year 1996 and wrote a book that won many awards. In that same year, he wrote the book, Into the Wild. It was on the New York's bestseller list for a little over two years. It seems like he had a very exciting life, and he was lucky that he was able to travel in all of these places. I hope that through his writing, I am able to understand more about his life. Hope you will read along!
