Hawaii

One place in the United States that I would like to visit is Hawaii. I have never visited here before, but I have heard some very exciting things about this state. I would get there by plane because there is no way to drive there, and going by boat would take too long. Hawaii is known as the “Paradise of the Pacific.” This is no surprise though because it has many exotic flowers and priceless views that couldn’t be seen anywhere else in the United States.
Hawaii is made up of one hundred and thirty two islands. I think it would be fun to visit some of the different islands and see how they differ from each other. However, there are many more things that I would like to see if I had the opportunity to visit Hawaii. I would love to visit a few of the many volcanoes that Hawaii has. I have never had the chance to see one in person, and I think that it would be a learning and unique experience. I would also like to see all of the flowers and beaches. I love photography, so I think that this would be the perfect vacation for me to take beautiful pictures of these things. Nature is also very interesting to me. It would be nice to see all of the different animals and plants that Hawaii has. Lastly, I would love to see the culture of the people in Hawaii. It would be fun to see how their lives differ from mine because of the location, and the resources that they have. As you can see, I will have many things to do in Hawaii, and when I get there I will probably be able to name even more!
I know that Hawaii is one of the places on the top of my list of where I would like to visit. I know that there are many things that I can do here, and I hope that someday I will have the privilege to visit this place and many others along the way.

Jon Krakauer

Jon Krakauer was born on April 12, 1954. Because he grew up living in Corvallis, Oregon, Jon enjoyed hiking and mountain climbing. This is why he is mostly known for his books about hiking and mountain climbing. In 1976 ,after graduating from Hampshire College, Jon began to travel. He traveled and climbed a mountain that was at one time said to be the most difficult mountain to climb on Earth. Krakauer reached the top of Mt. Everest in the year 1996 and wrote a book that won many awards. In that same year, he wrote the book, Into the Wild. It was on the New York's bestseller list for a little over two years. It seems like he had a very exciting life, and he was lucky that he was able to travel in all of these places. I hope that through his writing, I am able to understand more about his life. Hope you will read along!

English Project: Emily's Adventure "Into the Wild"

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is a true story about a dead man named McCandless. His body was found in  Alaska, and detectives are tracing back all of his travels. Everyone is grieving his death, but police particularly look at an older man who was especially grieving his death. Who knows, maybe this man has something to do with this tragic event. It is soon discovered that McCandless survived for approximately 119 days in the Alaskan wilderness. he was finding edible roots and berries for food and shooting some animals to survive. There was one mor ething that was found... McCandless was keeping a journal. Hopefully this will lead police to more details about this death. I can't wait to read this book, and I hope that you guys will keep up wit my blog and get to read through this with me!
